chik white – face across the door (CD/DL)
I’m thrilled to announce that I have a new album on the Italian label Music à la Coque. This is my first release of 2026. Here’s the label blurb:
face across the door was recorded during the gray Nova Scotia days of late 2025, roughly a year after chik white first picked up a pair of busted-up acoustic guitars and began a path of detuned, atonal improvisation and abstract utterance. The pieces here are ugly, beautiful, and human. Much of the album is as free and wild as anything in the chik white catalogue. Yet at moments, faint outlines of songs emerge — structures that surface and dissolve before settling into form.

2026 Spring European Tour
Besides a quick one-off gig in Italy a few years back, I haven’t toured Europe in earnest since 2018. I still reminisce about that trip all the time. So I can’t wait to get back over there. I’m especially looking forward to performing in Eastern Europe for the first time. I’ll be playing jaw harp at these shows, but I’ll mostly be focusing on improvised guitar and voice. I toured this flavour of set in Canada last year, and I can’t wait to see how it goes in Europe. Dates are as follows:
April 18 – Colour Out of Space Festival – Brighton, UK
April 21 – Richten25 – Berlin, DE
April 22 – Młodsza Siostra – Warsaw, PL
April 25 – Jauna Muzika Festival – Vilnius, LT
April 28 – Toinen Kerros – Helsinki, FI
April 29 – Aleponija – Riga, LV
chik white – it’s not music t-shirt
A few months ago, cartoonist and illustrator David Witt made a sketch of me and posted it on Instagram. I was quite taken by it. I thought he captured my energy well — the drawing was just super cool. Very wild and free. So I got him to ink up the sketch and put it on a shirt. If you follow me on Instagram, maybe you’ve seen this already, but if not, check out the shirt here – https://chikw.etsy.com/ca/listing/4446986595/its-not-music-t-shirt
Okay, friends. Thanks for check out my work. Maybe I’ll see you out there in the world someday. Bye.
